Fremont Street Mardi Gras

Vegas Mardi Gras - March annually

Fremont Street Mardi Gras is held every year in March, and is regarded as Las Vegas' premier indoor party. The Mardi Gras is actually held inside an entertainment mall, which the event is spread over five city blocks. It is here that Mardi Gras takes place with hundreds of people leading processions, playing music, dancing and getting dressed up. It is no wonder that the Fremont Street Mardi Gras is one of Las Vegas' most well loved Mardi Gras Vegasevents.

Like many things in Vegas, the Fremont Street Mardi Gras is not for everyone, and may even be regarded as tacky, however Mardi Gras is a big deal in the US, and is generally treated as an excuse for a party. This feeling is intensified in Las Vegas. Fremont Street is generally seen as a fun place to hang out due to the large number of pubs, bars and casinos. However during Mardi Gras, the party atmosphere is intensified with beads and margaritas being the order of the night!

The Fremont Street Experience is popular with locals and visitors and is also known as the Fat Tuesday Pub Crawl. It allows people to come to the area, register and then proceed to engage in all the delights the mall has to offer. There is often live entertainment and music, with last year seeing the likes of David 'Mojo' Poe and other swing/Dixieland bands providing the soundtrack for the evening's escapades.

There is also a host of wonderful food to try with local restaurants such as the Rhythm Kitchen putting on a special menu for the night including ribs, oysters, shrimp boil and Chinese chicken wings.
