Until the late 1980’s, Downtown Las Vegas was where all the magic happened. Even today, Downtown Las Vegas remains a favourite hotspot with tourists, coming second though in terms of popularity to the Las Vegas Strip.
Over 17 million people are reported to visit Downtown Las Vegas annually, not only because it is the central business district of Las Vegas and has most of the city’s high rise buildings, but also because it is the place to be if you are in the mood for some downtown gaming. Downtown Las Vegas boasts some of the lowest minimums as opposed to the Las Vegas Strip; these rates can even go as low as a dollar or two.

Fremont Street Experience, Las Vegas
Another crowd puller for downtown Las Vegas is the famous Fremont Street Experience. The Fremont Street Experience is an audio-visual entertainment 
show involving lights and music. The Fremont Street Experience covers 5 blocks of downtown Las Vegas and boasts 12 million lights and one of the best sound systems in the world.
The total cost of setting up and running the Fremont Street Experience is 70 million and as a result this entertainment show never fails to fascinate the crowds. Also serving to enhance the experience are various concerts, restaurants and special entertainment features that are run all year round.
To increase its level of attraction when it comes to tourists, the city has begun work on three state-of-the-art ventures that it hopes will draw even more attention to Downtown Las Vegas.
